City Hall reception

Mardi soir, on était invités (les Master's Students) au City Hall de Stockholm. Un petit discours et un grand buffet nous attendaient dans le Blue Hall, lieu où a lieu chaque année en décembre la cérémonie du Prix Nobel. La grande classe. D'ailleurs, laissez moi vous conter l'histoire du City Hall :

Stockholm's City Hall is one of Sweden's foremost buildings in the National Romantic style. In the Blue Hall, which is the building's largest hall, the Nobel Prize Banquet takes place on the 10th of December every year.

The Blue Hall should have been painted blue, but the architect changed his mind. When he saw the beautiful red bricks, he did not want to cover them with blue plaster. But he retained the name Blue Hall as it was found on all the plans of the building, and was already in common use.

The Golden Hall contains over 18 000 000 mosaic pieces made of glass and gold. Einar Forseth has created a glistening banqueting hall for up to 700 people sitting down. The Hall is dominated by the "Queen of the lake Mälaren" on the northen wall, which represents Stockholm being honoured by the East and the West...

Bon en gros, on s'est bien gavé, on a bien bu, et on a passé un excellent début de soirée. Comme à 8h ils ont mis tout le monde dehors, avec quelques réfugiés, on est allé se caler dans un bar à côté de T-Centralen, qui faisait karaoké. Et là on s'est bien marré, on a pu apprécier les talents de Edgard, Burcu et Eugene. Puis on a fini par se rentrer, dans le froid Stockholmois.
